The 3 Sensitivity Levels

As someone who struggled to feel the Reiki energy flowing, it still amazes me how I can now practice this beautiful art form efficiently.

It’s been over 15 years since my first interaction with Reiki.

And …

Looking back, I still wonder if I would still be the person I am today had I not become aware of the 3 sensitivity levels at the right time. (more on this in a moment)

That’s because … my lack of understanding almost transformed Reiki into a chore.

My confidence levels dropped…

And I was close to giving up.

It took time and perseverance to find consistency and grow my self-trust.

I often felt stuck and had questions I didn’t know how to answer.

I was frustrated that others seemed to have it all figured out.

They spoke about knowing where the body needs healing while I was still trying to figure out how to make Reiki work at a basic level.

That’s when I knew I had to find the right type of help if I wanted to do this properly…

Understand what I was healing…

Become able to find balance on my own…

And rely on Reiki in almost any situation.

Having like-minded people next to me and the opportunity to learn from experienced Reiki Masters provided the support I needed to overcome most obstacles.

But not everyone enjoys this privilege…

Hence the reason for writing this lesson.

I’ve Been There Myself

As already mentioned, I’ve been practicing and teaching Reiki for over 15 years.

It’s been a beautiful ride but had its share of ups and downs.

Being close to giving up because I was confused and couldn’t feel the universal energy flowing was one of them.

This was before I became a Reiki Master.

Obviously, everything makes a lot more sense today when I know how challenging the early stages are.

Unfortunately, we don’t know this until later down the road.

We think there’s something wrong with us…

We might blame Reiki and find reasons not to continue…

That’s why I think it’s vital to meet the committed Reiki practitioners at a crucial point in their journey.

Someone who quits at the first signs of confusion … is probably looking for a “magic pill.”

Yet … the practitioner who inevitably hits roadblocks becomes confused and loses self-trust but not the voice in the back of the head that whispers:

“Reiki is here, and it can help.”

Will continue even if it feels overwhelmingly hard.

I was that person…

And I’m sure there are many more like me looking for answers.

Feeling discouraged because I couldn’t feel the energy flowing was one of my biggest struggles.

I lost faith in my abilities to find balance through Reiki.

And rushed to see results without understanding what I was healing.

Sometimes … it seemed that the effort was not even worth it.

It’s a common issue.

And that’s why I feel it’s important to share with the world…

The 3 Sensitivity Levels All Reiki Practitioners Should Be Aware Of

  • Non-sensitive
  • Normal-sensitive
  • Extra-sensitive

Even if the terms are self-explanatory…

One cannot determine with perfect accuracy which category s/he belongs to.

The best thing is not to label ourselves but be aware of this segmentation.

It makes a huge difference.

And, whatever the case, know that Reiki works as a long-term strategy, not a quick fix.

For me, this was a true “a-ha” moment that provided a lot of clarity.

It helped me understand a greater concept…

There are many to be discovered in this journey, and I should accept this truth instead of becoming frustrated and rush to conclusions.

If you struggle to feel the Reiki energy flowing or want to understand…

  • How each level manifests;
  • Why it’s important to become aware of them;
  • What to do to overcome this hurdle with confidence;
