Free Yourself From Unexpressed Emotions By Healing Your Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is the fifth primary energy center located within the physical body spectrum.

It represents the area where ideas, intentions, and emotions transform into different forms of communication.

That is why the throat chakra serves as the fundamental passage for our bodies to express all of the energies collected from the other chakras.

Together with its back projection, it has a vital role in controlling certain physical and energetic aspects of our life.

What Does The Throat Chakra Represent

The throat chakra is known as Vishuddha, which derives from Sanskrit and roughly translates as “purified.”

It’s one of the most significant bridges between the emotional and physical planes, allowing you to communicate with others.

However, bear in mind that individual expression isn’t restricted to the capacity to speak. Despite this, individuals communicate by sign language, facial expressions, and even through simple intentions. Others convey this using art, athletics, or other crafts. As a result, the throat chakra’s primary feature is expression via any form of communication.

This manifestation can become the catalyst of healing on an emotional level. Our output is located at the third eye, heart, and solar plexus chakras levels. That’s why the throat chakra is in strong connection with these energetic centers.

Despite this, most spiritual scholars consider the throat chakra to be the core component in expressing the word as a primary method of communication. While that may be true, it is not always the ideal form.

The power of words has been dramatically underestimated throughout history. Yet, oddly enough, that’s a good thing.

How so?

Most of us would most likely take advantage of this knowledge if we were totally aware of the word’s incredible power and learned how to employ it.

This would result in unimaginable conflicts among individuals.

Perhaps we should just accept now that every spoken word is a type of energy and information and that we should remain ignorant of its strength. Each word and phrase has its own unique vibration, which provides it with the potential to materialize.

So, be mindful next time you decide to speak.

“People should be slow at talking but hasty in good deeds.”

Where Is The Throat Chakra Located

The throat chakra is located near the thyroid gland, within the pit of the throat.

It has a symmetrical projection on the back of the neck, specifically between the upper shoulder blades.

Throat Chakra Symbols

The throat chakra has a bright, blueish hue when it’s healthy and activated.

It features 16 petals, each representing a quality that you need to acknowledge or an imbalance that requires healing.

These can vary according to each person’s level of spiritual evolution.

Within the throat chakra, there is a downward pointing triangle with a circle within. This triangle symbolizes a bridge connecting our consciousness with the soul, making the throat chakra an intermediary structure between the two spiritual elements.

The full circle is associated with a clear mind, which can materialize its pure ideas.

What Does The Throat Chakra Do

At The Physical Level

The throat chakra is responsible for the health of:

  • Thyroid gland;
  • Esophagus;
  • Larynx;
  • Endocrine and lymphatic systems;
  • Arterial tension;

When it’s out of balance, at least one of these physical elements is not working properly. This also implies there’s an emotional or spiritual aspect that we are not in harmony with.

Together with the solar plexus chakra, it’s the energy center exposed to stress the most.

A lesser-known fact is that when your throat chakra is balanced, you will feel the urge to exercise. Its opening encourages you to pursue a routine linked to your physical well-being.

At The Emotional And Spiritual Levels

  • The throat chakra governs:
  • Self-expression;
  • Communication;
  • Listening (which is different than the hearing ability);
  • Helps overcome shyness when speaking in public;
  • Enhances the sense of humor;

The throat chakra shares one important attribute with the sacral chakra – creativity.

Communication and expression are not always achieved through the capacity to speak, as previously said. As a result, some people choose to express themselves through creative talents like writing, art, sports, and other skills.

The throat chakra is one of the energetic structures necessary for telepathy. When cleansed and opened, it serves as the telepathic emission center. At the same time, the third-eye chakra takes on the receiver role.

It’s also responsible for the clairaudient ability – this means that one can hear others without being next to them.

Keep in mind that a cleansed energetic body does not necessarily lead to extra-sensorial abilities. To fully utilize them, one must undergo training and discipline.

Frequency

Like the rest of the chakras, this one also resonates with music. In particular, 192Hz and 384Hz frequencies work best with the throat chakra.

Throat Chakra Healing

Before we start healing the throat chakra, it’s good to know what blocked it in the first place.

How Does The Throat Chakra Get Blocked

Some “mild” causes can be:

  • Gossips;
  • Criticism
  • Lying;
  • Swearing;

These will gradually bring negative energy through the chakra’s energetic field, causing a series of unpleasant physical outcomes.

Stress, fatigue, and depression are also common causes that deteriorate this chakra’s energetic structure.

However, the one thing that can block our throat chakra the quickest is refusing to communicate our feelings. This can result in physical problems such as persistent throat issues or laryngitis. Unspoken words at the proper moment might build up in the form of residual energy, triggering a mix of anxiety and depression.

Of course, it all depends on how we want to do it. Expressing our emotions in a balanced manner can speed up the healing process than many other techniques.

To do that, it’s essential to know how to be in harmony with ourselves and our emotional side.

3 Methods For Balancing The Throat Chakra

  1. Reiki;
  2. Meditation;
  3. Sound and Aromatherapy;

Heal With Reiki

Reiki is a powerful technique for purifying, activating, and empowering the throat chakra’s beneficial qualities.

When you practice Reiki, the universal energy that courses through your palms will cleanse residual energies from this level.

The energy field developed by Vishuddha becomes healthier and expands as a result of this process. Its energy field and all internal components begin to mend and glisten with pure energy.

  • Activate your palms before starting your treatment;
  • Place one palm on the front side of the throat chakra and one on the back of the neck. Place both palms on the sides of your neck as an alternative;
  • Stay like this for 10 minutes each day and notice the results after a week;

Using Meditation

In general, there are a variety of meditation techniques that may be used to activate the chakras.

The throat chakra is one of the most responsive energetic structures to any visualization or cleansing technique.

As a result, there is a very easy method to activate it:

  • Visualize how this part of your body is encircled by a vibrant light-blue divine energy. This will cleanse and gradually activate the throat chakra.
  • Repeat this procedure daily to help raise your vibration and the chance of having an optimal energy flow through this energy center.

Generally speaking, Yoga is another form of meditation that you can use.

Certain asanas from Kundalini practice for the throat chakra can be particularly beneficial. They open up the chest and throat area, improving circulation and allowing more energy to flow.

Sound and Aromatherapy

Exposing yourself to the energy structure of the throat chakra’s frequency is also an excellent technique to stimulate it. You can do this by playing music that is tuned to 192Hz and 384Hz at any time.

Tibetan sound bowls together with incense are of great help. Their specific sound emanates a positive vibration that also has a cleansing effect on the surroundings.

Incense will further accelerate the process, and frankincense is probably the most efficient in removing residual energies at this level.

Essential oils from sage, eucalyptus, jasmine, cloves, and peppermint are also beneficial for stimulating Vishuddha.

These methods can assist you in better communicating your emotions. Still, in the end, expressing yourself is the best way to activate your throat chakra.

Remember that you don’t have to limit yourself only to these procedures. Use them as a starting point and feel free to experiment.

Can You Experience An Overactive Throat Chakra

It may sound strange, but having an overactive throat chakra is quite common.

When this happens, people tend to talk excessively without communicating something of essence. In other words, it means that it’s not balanced enough to harmoniously express the right information.

An overactive throat chakra can enable a person to become less judgemental but unable to properly harmonize with the world around them.

Lacking patience or raising your voice are also common symptoms.

The same healing methods apply here as well.

What Happens When The Throat Chakra Opens

Motivation is one of the most typical indicators of a harmoniously open throat chakra. This applies to all aspects of life, from physical activities to spiritual ones.

Here are a few things to watch:

  • The desire to integrate people who are “left out” of a conversation;
  • You’ll be less interested in gossips and criticism;
  • Your self-expression and communication will gradually improve;
  • You’ll start feeling more alive, outgoing, curious to explore new places, and experience new adventures;

At the physical level, you may notice that imbalances related to your throat will heal faster.

At the spiritual level, the throat chakra is an immense gateway of knowledge and wisdom. Explore it to reach a new level of awareness, improve your relations, and discover new layers of your being.

What Are The Best Throat Chakra Crystals

The crystals that help stimulate the activation of the throat chakra usually have a slightly higher vibration than other stones.

Here are some of the main ones:

  • Lapis Lazuli;
  • Aquamarine;
  • Azurite;
  • Blue Kyanite;
  • Blue Apatite;
  • Sodalite;
  • Blue Quartz;

Together with aquamarine, lapis lazuli is probably the most used crystal for healing this chakra.

Lapis lazuli has quite a history. In ancient times people believed it had magical healing powers.

One of its main properties is to facilitate self-expression and enhance self-awareness. In addition, it can stimulate clarity, creativity and help boost confidence in speaking the truth.

Another essential trait is to help us express compassion and honesty to the ones around us. That’s why lapis lazuli connects with the throat chakra.
