“Magick Of Reiki” is a brilliant book that combines the mysterious world of “magick” or inner alchemy with Reiki.
It’s rare to find somebody who touches on these matters in a way that doesn’t seem forced or contrived.
That’s what makes this book so unique and refreshing. It really feels like you are reading something extraordinary.

Who Should Consider Reading “Magick of Reiki”
This is far from being a conventional Reiki book and more suitable for the intermediate and advanced practitioner.
I believe you can achieve a lot by simply using the traditional Reiki techniques, so there’s no need to overcomplicate things.
At least in the beginning…
Having said that, it’s good to widen your knowledge and explore more once you feel comfortable with the basics.
“Magick of Reiki” is there to help you do just that.
Plus, it’s written with the Reiki practitioner in mind, so it does most of the heavy lifting.
NOTE: This book will not offer attunements, nor will any other book out there. Even if distance attunements are possible, I always recommend getting one in person.
What Will “Magick of Reiki” Teach You
The author, Christopher Penczak, goes through all the levels of Usui Reiki in a comprehensive manner. He offers details to every Reiki symbol and technique, providing a very in-depth perspective for any reader wanting more than a traditional understanding of the practice.
“Magick, in essence, is the ability to communicate to the universe what you want in an effective way, so that the universe can then respond and create what you desire.”
Christopher Penczak, The Witch’s Coin: Prosperity and Money Magick
At level one – you can explore the meaning of Reiki and the importance of attunements. Then, the author covers Reiki principles and hand positions before diving into more advanced matters. These are elements each Reiki practitioner should be aware of. And, reviewing them from a different perspective is always very helpful.
At level two – the difference between the levels of energy and the importance of symbols is explained. This analysis should help the Reiki practitioner better understand how to use them in self-treatment. Yet again, the author goes beyond conventional wisdom, bringing new elements to the table.
“Magick of Reiki” does not go into much detail for level three, but it does outline what the Master’s role is and other elements that you need to be aware of.
As expected, Christopher Penczak is not at all shy about straying from the beaten path. His insights on other Reiki systems and symbols like Karuna, Shamballa Reiki, and Seichim are a great addition to the book.
How Magic of Reiki Helped Me
This book helped me understand Reiki in a new way, making me feel more confident about my practice.
It provided many “a-ha” moments and eventually showed me how to integrate the “magickal” knowledge in the traditional Reiki wisdom.
Specifically, it helped me handle certain issues like emotional healing, social anxiety, or self-awareness with more confidence.
I found “Magick of Reiki” very useful mainly because I read it at the right time.
I had the knowledge but also the experience to use the information to my advantage without compromising my initial learnings.
The physical edition also added a lot of value because everything is in the right place and easy to consume. On the other hand, the digital one is a bit harder to follow, and I don’t recommend it for such a well-written book.

It’s common for practitioners to feel hindered because of the way Reiki was presented to them. That’s why I like learning about what’s around us, even if I don’t apply that information directly. It’s more of a way to better my practice rather than substitute it.
“The secret of true prosperity is finding our security through our connection with the divine, with the spiritual world.”
Christopher Penczak, The Witch’s Coin: Prosperity and Money Magick
Take everything in small doses and progress at your own pace. I found that adding one piece at a time returns the best results.
You’ll probably use this book differently than I do, and that’s the beauty of this art form.
