Remove Negative Energy Using Reiki And 6 Other Cleansing Methods

Cleansing your room by removing negative energies will improve the quality of your life.

This article is going to show you how to bring a higher vibration to a space, and why that’s important.

It will help whether you’re looking to practice healing therapies or enjoy that room for work or rest.

We all have energy fields generated by our primary chakras. Within those energy fields, we have thoughts, fears, and frustrations.

Apart from this, when we get home, we can carry many of the residual energies from outside.

If we properly take care of this situation, then we’ll be able to keep a healthy and clean environment at all levels.

Our homes are only as cleansed as we are. We are the ones who influence these spaces with our actions, thoughts, and vibrations.

These will facilitate unwanted energies to stock up in places like old furniture. That’s the reason why sometimes we hear that annoying “cracking” sound.

Also, the corners of the room are usually where they pile up. That’s why we need to pay close attention to these areas.

Of course, keeping a tidy house matters quite a lot.

We are living in a physical world and each action has an “echo” in the subtle worlds. If you regularly clean your house and put tidy things up, you will also bring good energy to your place.

There are many ways to cleanse a house from an energetical and spiritual perspective.

These are the ones that I find to be most useful:

Using Reiki To Cleanse A Room And Remove Negative Energies

Reiki is one of the most efficient ways of cleansing a room or a person from residual or negative energies.

You can bring a very high vibration to a place by channeling the universal life force energy.

Using Reiki symbols will amplify that effect.

Reiki can indeed dissolve any negative energy from a room. The result depends on how strong those energies are and the practitioner’s capacity to channel the universal life force energy.

Cleansing A Room With Reiki Will Disperse Negative Energy

This method is valid for any type of activity. Whether you’re looking to do therapy, sleep or work, the same applies.

Activate your palms and energy centers before starting cleaning the room. This will increase your ability to channel energy and it will also protect you.

There are 5 main segments you need to focus on in a room:

  1. Walls
  2. Ceiling
  3. Floor
  4. Corners (upper and lower)
  5. Center

If you are attuned for Reiki first degree, simply activate your palms. Send energy for about 2-3 minutes to each segment and visualize how you cleanse them.

If you are attuned for the second or third-degree you can use the symbols as well.

For Usui Reiki, you can use this sequence: Cho-Ku-Rei and Sei-He-Ki on each of the 5 areas described above. Then add Shika-Sei-Ki, Shika-So, and Dai-Ko-Myo in the middle of the room.

Note: You can use these symbols on furniture as well.

From Karuna Reiki use Zonar and Halu on the 5 areas. Then add Harth, Rama, Krya, Iava, Shanti and OM in the middle of the room. On the corners I also recommend Rama, just to make sure they are properly cleaned.

From Shamballa Reiki, you can use Cho-Ku-Rei and Sei-He-Ki on the 5 areas. Additionally, consider Mer-Ka-Fa-Ka-Lish-Ma and Amsui in the center of the room.

Any combination of these will create an aura of light and peace within the room.

To directly open the source of life force energy in the room, you can use the following sequence: Cho-Ku-Rei > Sei-He-Ki > Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen > Dai-Ko-Myo.

If you have Shamballa MDH Reiki you can also call upon the Mahatma Energy, the Violet Flame Energy, and Christ Consciousness Energy.

Needless to say, all these incredible vibrations will bring pure light, harmony, and compassion to you and the whole place.

Even having the Reiki symbols on the walls can help.

Reiki brings light, love, and peace wherever you activate it.

Music

Music is among the oldest methods of promoting peace, joy, and tranquility.

It can instantly change the mood and condition of a person.

The most important thing you have to know is that each instrument and tune has its own vibration. Thus listening to a certain type of music will bring, at least for the moment, the corresponding energy.

This does not mean that one is bad and another is good. We resonate with different tunes according to our mood or intention.

For example, at a party, it is only normal to listen to upbeat songs. When want to meditate you will listen to ambient and spiritual music.

If you were to replace the two, nobody will enjoy the experience. So it all depends on the vibration you’re seeking.

Having said that, there are tunes with either negative or positive vibration. We are all aware they exist and that they can connect to lesser dimensions and while others to very high ones.

Truth to be told, metal songs are simply not able to connect you to the same beneficial energies like mantras or gregorian songs do.

How To Use Music To Remove Negative Energy

Generally speaking, playing high vibrational tunes will slowly dissolve negative energies.

There are many artists and types of meditative music out there so it’s hard to say where to begin. I guess the best option is to choose what resonates with you.

For example, I enjoy Terry Oldfield, Kitaro, and Deuter.

Sarah Brightman is another great choice to consider. Her songs have very high vibration mostly because of her voice.

Sarah’s album HYMN is the one I recommend:

Also try to find songs with certain high vibrational frequencies such as 432Hz, 528Hz, 728Hz, 741Hz music. There many mantras and spiritual songs with these frequencies online these days.

OM mantras are capable of obliterating the negative energies around you quite fast.

Gregorian church or prayer songs are also very powerful for energetic cleansing.

Tibetan sound bowls are quite strong at braking through residual energies and raising vibration.

Don’t forget that music has the power to change both the room and your vibration.

Using Incense For Cleansing And Removing Negative Energy

There are many religions and cultures, from both Europe and Asia, that use incense in therapy.

They come in different shapes, sizes and fragrances. Some cultures prefer sticks or cones, while others prefer frankincense.

This method of cleansing is one of my favorites.

It has been used for hundreds of years, and for good reason. It can dissipate negative energies from a room and also the energetic fields of a person. Also, it has a calming effect over the brain, offering a meditative and tranquil state of mind.

Certain incense fragrances have a higher vibration compared to the rest. They are Frankincense, Sandal, Darshan, Chandan, Sai Baba, Myrrh and a few others.

There are many options to choose from, so again, it all depends on what fragrance you resonate with.

Maybe for you, an incense stick with a fresh fragrance rather than a strong one works best. Experiment and you will find your favorite. Regardless, they are very useful for energetical cleansing.

How To Use Incense

Let’s say you have an incense stick and you wish to cleanse the room for meditation or therapy.

First light it. While holding it between your fingers, form small counterclockwise circles around the room. Use it as an extension of your hand.

Focus more on the corners and center of the room. You may use it above a chair, couch or bed to cleanse the energetic prints left there by yourself or other people.

I also use the incense sticks to draw the Reiki symbols in the center of the room. This provides an even more powerful cleansing.

If you are using frankincense, myrrh or other types of incense, place them in an incense burner. Hold it in your hand and move it in circles counterclockwise around the room. If you prefer, you can also draw crosses or symbols.

As a method of cleansing, a long time ago, I was using one incense stick for each corner and let it burn out. Yet, when used in excess, the fragrance may become too strong or even toxic. Nothing is good in excess so be careful with how much you’re using.

Burning dry sage can also disperse negative energies from a room. It also helps quite a lot with cleansing the energy fields of a person.

Note: Be sure to keep away incense from any burning material!

I like using the best out there, and when it comes to incense sticks, for me HEM is my go-to brand:

In my opinion, one has to travel to the original source like Nepal or India to find the real deal. But considering that’s not an easy thing to do, accessible brands like HEM are more than enough for what we need.

Always choose what works for you. The important thing is the process. Worry less about the tools.

Oils

Used as a healing and relaxing fragrance, oils are a more modern approach for cleansing a space or aura.

They are mostly used to refresh and relax someone, but some oils can raise the vibration and even remove negative energy.

Here are my top 10 choices for oil fragrances!

They can help disperse unwanted energies and bring emotional peace.

These fragrances will bring positivity and high vibration to your surroundings.

Each resonates with a certain chakra and thus will work better for different energetic levels.

  • Frankincense – throat and third eye chakra;
  • Lavender – crown and third eye chakra;
  • Sage – solar plexus chakra;
  • Peppermint – solar plexus and heart chakra;
  • Cloves – root and sacral chakra;
  • Myrrh – third eye and crown chakra;
  • Cedarwood – heart and throat chakra;
  • Juniper Berry – solar plexus chakra;
  • Palo Santo – sacral and solar plexus chakra;
  • Bergamot – throat and heart chakra;

Crystals And Stones

Crystals and gemstones have been used for healing purposes, since the dawn of civilization.

Using crystals and gemstones is a very powerful, but more expensive, way of cleansing a room and removing negative energies.

Before using crystals you need to cleanse and activate them.

Reiki is one of the best ways of doing that.

Types

Most crystals and stones are used to either amplify the beneficial energy or absorb negative energy.

Crystals like Amethyst, white or rose quartz, can amplify the beneficial energy of a person or a place.

The larger the crystal, the more power it has.

That is why many spiritual practitioners use amethyst geodes and large quartz obelisks.

They can amplify the positive energy hundreds, and sometimes, even thousands of times. That’s because of their size and inner power.

Crystals and stones like smoky quartz, obsidian, and black onyx can absorb negative energies.

Most Common

Jade, pink quartz and lapis lazuli are among the common ones. You might have heard about them too.

They are popular because they can be easily found and they are used to amplify beneficial energy as well as absorbing negative energy.

Jade is a great stone for emotional and physical healing (especially jadeite). Also, it is used for cleansing and removing dark energies and entities from a house or room. Again, the larger the stone, the more power it has.

Pink quartz and lapis lazuli are excellent stones for emotional and mental healing.

The more cleansed and activated stones and crystals you have within your house, the more the positive energy level will increase.

If you constantly use them for meditation or therapy, their healing potential will increase.

Remember that crystals and gemstones are living entities, not just rocks.

Candles

Candles have been used since before the Roman empire and have been the source of light in homes, castles, and temples for centuries.

Because they have been present in meditations, rituals, and therapies for so long, they now represent a symbol.

As with incense, candles come in different shapes, sizes, and fragrances and different religions use them around the world.

One important thing that most people miss, is that candles can ease the process of opening the gateways to different dimensions. That’s why they are used so often in initiations and rituals.

How To Use Candles For Energetic Cleansing

The following method is quite useful for me before when I do Reiki self-treatment or Reiki on others.

I place one candle in each corner of the room and one in the middle, or close enough.

I draw the Reiki symbols Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki and Rama (from Karuna Reiki) on each one of them. This way they will activate the light at all levels.

Because Rama connects to Archangel Michael and the angels of protection, adding it will help increase the guarding effect.

Using this combination of symbols will disperse any negative and/or residual energy.

After drawing the Reiki symbols, you can condition those candles to cleanse and protect you throughout the therapy.

Just the simple intention can create an aura of energy around each candle and it will act according to your vibration and intention.

If conditioned correctly, even one candle is capable of sublimating into light energy almost any form of negative energy.

Placing 5 or 9 candles in the shape of a cross will help you better connect to the high dimensions of the Archangels. Adding prayers definitely help and you’ll feel the effect of deep cleansing.

Note: Be sure to keep the candles away from any burning material!

Using Prayers To Help Remove Negative Energy

This obviously depends on your religion and belief, thus I can’t recommend any specific method or prayer.

What I can say, and from personal experience, praying has proven to be the most powerful of all in removing negative energies.

In the end, it doesn’t matter what religion you are, as long as you pray from the heart. Even more and visualize your mind descending to your heart and praying from deep down of your soul.

Vocalizing a prayer will amplify the effect. This is because that specific energy goes directly into the physical plane.

A Prayer Manifests In 4 Main Planes

  • Spiritual – the prayer itself, the connection with Divinity;
  • Mental and Emotional – the mind descends into the heart, so we use both energy centers (Mind and Heart);
  • Physical – by expressing the prayer out loud, you bring it into this world with its beneficial energy;

    1. I was told that the Reiki symbols once drawn for giving reiki to some one or for self cleansing or for other purposes such as removing negativity from any place etc. should be withdrawn and closed after the session is over by drawing them once again and chanting the symbol name (mantra). I have not found any such mention in any of your article. Please enlighten in this regard.

      • Hi there Aditya and thank you for writing.

        I believe what you are referring to is the process of “sealing”. This is used after an attunement and/or creating certain protection. These are complex procedures that are enhanced by this so-called “sealing” method.

        This is done by either drawing or visualizing a Cho Ku Rei that closes/seals a complex process such as the examples presented above. It is not required for every cleansing or self-treatment session because the light flows where it is needed.

        Blessings!
