Shika Sei Ki and Shika So go beyond traditional Reiki and enhance your practice with a focus on your heart, soul and emotional connection.
These two amazing symbols are not taught by many Reiki schools. They are considered to belong to a secret, old but non-traditional spiritual teachings of Reiki.
- Shika Sei Ki – can help heal your heart and soul;
- Shika So – is the one that makes the connection between emotions and communication;
These two symbols work perfectly together.
One has the role of opening and cleansing the heart while the other one helps you peacefully express your feelings. They create and maintain a harmonious relationship with your inner-self and the people around you.
This can happen when you have a clean heart and a will of expressing your feelings.
So the two of them can very well complement each other in their uses for an energetic and spiritual balance.
Let’s explore more of what each of them can do for us. We’ll discover how they can help us from a physical standpoint as well as a spiritual one.
Shika Sei Ki The Reiki Symbol For Peace
Also known as:
“Love that travels from heart to heart”
It has a high capacity of concentrating the energy in one area.

How And When To Use Shika Sei Ki
Using Shika Sei Ki can provide a touch of serenity.
That’s why we know it as the Reiki symbol for peace. Additionally, it can enhance your ability to offer and receive love by filling your heart chakra with light.
On a physical level, Shika Sei Ki also helps fix issues with the cardiovascular system and arterial tension such as:
- Arterial hypotension and hypertension;
- Oscillating tension;
- Ischemic heart disease;
- Myocardium inflammation;
We can use it when we feel sadness, depression, fatigue or anger.
Basically any issues regarding the heart.
Anxiety, depression, and stress can often be confused with a heart attack. If you’re interested in a more scientific explanation, read this short article called “Calm your anxious heart”, from Harvard Medical School.
Whenever we are suffering from a break-up, the loss of a dear one, or even when we’re leaving behind a beautiful place, we tend to “lose” a part of our soul.
It’s as if a piece of us is still there, connected to that certain place or person.
With time, this makes us vulnerable to feelings such as depression, fear, anxiety, and even mistrust.
In turn, these can have very unpleasant effects on our physical and energetic health.
Shika Sei Ki can help us recover the “lost” parts of our soul.
Whenever you feel sad, you can activate your palm or palms with this symbol and place your hands on the heart area. This will bring you a feeling of being complete and joyful.
You can activate both your palms and energy centers with the Reiki symbols.
Then, you can focus on the heart chakra by using Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki, and Shika Sei Ki.
This will release the residual energy and open the dimension towards healing light.
In this case:
- Cho Ku Rei will become the “light switch”;
- Sei He Ki will open the dimension, release the negative energy, and harmonize;
- Shika Sei Ki will go deep into the emotional level to fix the problem;
- Use Dai Ko Myo as well if you are attuned for the third level of Reiki;
- Keep the hands in this area for 10-15 minutes and notice the effect.
The same procedure works for therapy on other people.
Other Uses For Shika Sei Ki
Another important use of Shika Sei Ki is drawing it in the center of a room. Together with Sei He Ki will create a warm and loving environment.
Shika Sei Ki is a very useful symbol of relationships. It can remove monotony and bring back your emotional balance.
In the case of a couple, placing the activated palm on your partner’s heart area and vice versa will create a feeling of harmony and will bring to the surface deep emotions that need to be expressed and healed.
Together with Shika So symbol, they complete the healing of the emotional-communication channel.
Keeping the two energy centers in balance (throat and heart) will help you express your emotions without fear and harmoniously and pleasantly.
The Shika So Reiki Symbol
Shika So is mostly used for the throat chakra (the 5th chakra – Vishuddha).
It deals with communication issues, thyroid problems, and energetic imbalances at this level.
It helps open ourselves to a better connection with other people and may remove anxiety when speaking to a large group.
This Is How To Draw Shika So
You can use Shika So for couples who have communication issues, whether that’s you or others.
I try visualizing it in bright light, between me and a loved one, when we’re in a heated conversation. Applying it this way always facilitates the discussion and leads us to the best outcome.
On A Physical Level, Shika So Can Help Us With The Following Issues:
- Hypo and hyperthyroidism;
- Parathyroid insufficiency;
- Cervical spondylosis;
- Ankylopoetic spondylitis;
You may apply Shika So directly on your throat chakra, or if you wish to be even more efficient, try adding Cho Ku Rei, Sei He Ki, and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen to the equation.
The same applies when practicing on others.
It works amazingly with both the energetic as well as the physical part of the body (thyroid).
Drawing it in the middle of a room will enhance the desire for communication and understanding.
When using Shika So often, there is a high probability to feel the need of expressing certain thoughts.
Be mindful of what you speak! That’s because some things need to get across in a more sensitive and controlled way.
That is why I like to use this symbol together with Cho Ku Rei and Sei He Ki, to build a harmonious channel of communication.
As mentioned before, Shika So works very well with Shika Sei Ki, when applied to the heart energy center.
Expressing your feelings verbally, in a harmonious way, can have unbelievable healing effects. By doing this you can release certain “trapped” emotions that can only be highlighted through communication.
That is why the throat energy center is strongly connected to the heart energy center.
A Quick Summary Of Shika So

Like with any Reiki symbol, you’re the only one who can choose the way you’re going to use Shika So. The beauty of using these symbols is that their uses are not limited to what’s described here. What’s fascinating about Reiki is that you can always discover new ways of doing things.
Enjoy Reiki’s flexibility and don’t be afraid to explore.
